Description

The name of the town recalls the vivid yellow colour of the sweetly-scented gorse and of saffron, both abundantly present in the woods around the town. The public gardens in Zafferana are lovely full of magnolias and camellias, and offer a magnificent view over the Ionian coast.
The cathedral has a Baroque façade.
